WELCOME TO VIRTUAL CHOIR PRACTICE
WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 18, 2024
Here is a detailed virtual choir practice that will go through the same items we would have done in person this evening.
First of all: We send our prayers and wishes for recovery to Sandy and Zandra, that they will be restored quickly and able to join us soon.
Second: Let's go through a brief review of the hymns we will find on Sunday, December 22:
GG 119 and GG 121 are very familiar, you may not even need to review them, but I will add recordings of our choir singing below.
GG 100 is NOT familiar and we do need to practice it. Lots of words. My ability to play and sing at the same time to make this recording below was not the best. So please be patient as I was sometimes struggling to read the words while reading the music and singing.

Anthem practice. "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day"
Now it is time for the anthems we will find on Sunday, December 22.
- I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day (solo by Zandra, choir supports singing on some sections)
- Here are JUST the choir sections. Copies of the music to follow along included.
- The recording plays the first section followed by the second section. Listen to the appropriate audio (VOICE 1-HIGH or VOICE 2-LOWER) if you sing the top voice (voice 1) or the lower voice (voice2).
- Then listen to the audio with VOICES 1+2 and see if you can still sing your part along with confidence.
Anthem practice. "One Small Child"
The choir has sung this anthem several times already, which means the soprano (HIGH) voice already is already familiarized with it.
I am going to focus today's practice on the alto (LOWER) voice. You can click on the images to enlarge them. |
Lower voices please practice your part using this audio player below.
|
After you have practiced your own voice, try singing along with this other audio file that contains the entire choir, and try singing your voice while you also hear the other voices.
