WELCOME SONG
You Are Welcome in the Name of the Lord (Traditional West African chorus)
You’re welcome in the name of the Lord. You’re welcome in the name of the Lord,
for we see in you the glory of the Lord, you’re welcome in the name of the Lord.
We love you in the name of the Lord. We love you in the name of the Lord,
for we see in you the glory of the Lord, we love you in the name of the Lord.
Please note that the authorship will now be listed as “Traditional West African chorus.” I have chosen to expand the attribution of traditional choruses to encompass all of West Africa, after it was brought to my attention that assigning a specific country of origin based on the individual who shared the song with me may not be appropriate. These choruses are widely known across West Africa, and many countries in the region consider them part of their own musical heritage.
HYMN -2- (sermon hymn)
GG 267 Come, Christians, Join to Sing MADRID
COMMUNION music
GG 192 Lord, the Light of Your Love Is Shining SHINE, JESUS, SHINE
Please include the music for communion in the bulletin, including the hymn number in case the congregation would like to sing along.
OFFERTORY Music
I'm Thinking When My Lord Shall Come (Traditional West African chorus)
I'm thinking when my Lord shall come. I'm thinking when my Lord shall come.
I'm thinking when my Lord shall come again. I don't know how that day shall be.
Please notice that we need to start including the lyrics for the traditional African choruses used at the Offertory, so those who are not familiar with these participatory songs can also sing along.
