REV. WELLINGTON
SCRIPTURES Revelation 7:9-17 Psalm 34:1-10, 22 Matthew 5:1-12 Sermon Title: "The Other Side of the Great Ordeal" Sermon Synopsis: In today’s sermon, on this All Saints’ Day just before the election, we will be exploring what it means to live out the Beatitudes – to embrace humility, to seek peace, to know what it is to experience loss as well as divine comfort, to know social injustice and persecution while seeking righteousness. Through John’s vision on Patmos, we will examine how God sees a world of inclusivity, diversity, and unity contrasted with how we see the world and what it will be like on the other side when we have come out of the “great ordeal.” PRELUDE pre-bell “Sleepers, Wake!” Organ prelude JS Bach BELL PRELUDE post-bell GG-520 Taste and See (JamesMoore) -3 verses- HYMNS (replaced by the substitute preacher) #366: Love Divine, All Loves Excelling #730: I Sing a Song of the Saints of God #326: For All the Saints WELCOME SONG Already recorded with voices CONGREGATIONAL RESPONSE Already recorded with voices GG 853 We Are Marching in the Light of God We are marching in the light of God, We are marching in the light of God.
